Staten Island, N.Y. - The women's bowling team appeared in the annual Seahawks Invite, finishing in third-place with a total pinfall of 8569 over the course of the two-day tournament. In addition, freshman
Emily Kulkarni was named to the All-Tournament Team for her performance on the weekend.
How it Happened
- The tournament opened with Baker play that saw Molloy go 2-3 with wins over Caldwell, 865-851, and St. Francis - Brooklyn, 858-794.Â
- In the second day of action, the format switched to traditional. The Lions picked up victories over Caldwell and #6 DII/III Wilmington.
- Against Caldwell, the keglers had a nail-biting, one-pin victory, 858-857, that featured a game-high performance of 187 from sophomore Jessica Portela. Junior Amanda Scarfogliero (185) and Kulkarni (180) also led Molloy's performances.
- Against Wilmington, the Lions topped the Wildcats, 977-899 with 244 pins from Kulkarni and 208 pins from Portela.
- The pair topped 200 in two games each, with Kulkarni bowling a 200 in Molloy's bye match while Portela knocked down 233 pins in a tough loss to St. Francis University, 961-955.Â
