Seaford, N.Y. - The field hockey team dropped a 3-0 contest to Mercy College this afternoon at Cedar Creek Park. The loss drops the Lions to 1-13 (0-10 Northeast-10 Conference) while the Mavericks improve to 6-6 (5-5 NE10).

How it Happened

• The Mavericks came out of the gate firing, scoring within the first 10 minutes of play.
• The Lions were able to keep them from scoring for the remainder of the first half, heading into the break down 1-0 despite three opportunities off the penalty corner.
• Mercy maintained possession through the second half of play, tallying two goals in the third frame to take a 3-0 edge.
• Junior Ally Saigh made seven saves in net through the first three quarters before sophomore Gianna Festa took the final 15 minutes of action, making six saves.
• Freshman Cat Amini had Molloy's lone shot on goal of the afternoon while graduate student Lizzie Weiner led the team with three shots.
