Box Score Sparkill, N.Y. - The women's basketball team returned to action after 332 days, falling at Saint Thomas Aquinas College, 57-55. 

How it Happened

• The score was tied five times throughout the first quarter, including a 14-14 knot after the first 10 minutes of action.
• a 14-0 run in the second frame put the Spartans in front, 33-16, with two minutes left in the opening half. STAC would ultimately take a 35-20 lead into the locker room.
• Molloy held the home team to a 21.4 field goal percentage in the third quarter, allowing just seven points. Junior Katie Marquardt netted eight points in the third quarter to help the Lions come within six, 42-36, headed into the final frame.
• A layup from junior Cameron Corbett tied the contest, 55-55, with 2:36 left on the game clock. The Spartans went to the line in the final minute, hitting both shots to take the two-point victory, 57-55.

Top Performances

• Senior Gabriella Aspuru led the maroon and white with 12 points, also adding seven rebounds, five assists, and one block.
• Marquardt added 11 points while senior Morgan Staab tallied 10 points and a team-high nine boards.
• Graduate student Safiyyah Lee also dished out five helpers to go with five rebounds, eight points, one block, and one steal.
