Coram, N.Y. - The women's bowling team appeared at the inaugural Dezy Strong Tournament, hosted by Adelphi University. The Lions finished 12th in the field of 15.
The first of three days in the tournament opened against exclusively Division I opponents and featured a 920-859 victory over St. Francis College Brooklyn in Baker competition.
The Lions fell to some of the top teams in the nation in the traditional format of the second day.
The event moved into tournament play. The Lions faced off against St. Francis College Brooklyn for a second time, topping the Terriers 4-3 in the best-of-seven format. The maroon and white then down the Red Flash of Saint Francis University, 4-0, before falling to the University of Alabama at Birmingham, 4-2.
