Farmingdale, N.Y. - The women's bowling team hosted its annual Molloy College Invitational this afternoon at Farmingdale Lanes. The maroon and white knocked down a total of 4,450 pins to take third-place. In the effort, freshman
Amanda Scarfogliero was named to the All-Tournament team.
The afternoon began against #14 Caldwell University. The strength of a 258 pin game propelled the Cougars in front, 976-874. The Lions fell to both Felician, 991-857, and Medaille, 967-889.Â
Against Saint Thomas Aquinas, the maroon and white picked up a definitive 915-702 victory. The final match of the day saw a rematch against the Golden Falcons of Felician in a quest for third-place. The maroon and white needed to win by 17 points headed into the final Baker contest of the afternoon. Junior
Mackenzie Wagner knocked down 29 pins in the final frame to seal the victory 915-833 in favor of the Lions.Â
Molloy improved to 43-28 on the season after this afternoon.
The keglers will return to the lanes tomorrow for the annual Molloy Baker Challenge at Farmingdale Lanes. The program will recognize the members of its first senior class prior to the match at 8:00 a.m.
