Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy women's soccer team was defeated by the New York Tech Bears, 1-0, Saturday afternoon at John A. Darcy Field. The Lions moved to 5-2-1 overall and 1-1 in East Coast Conference play, while the Bears improved to 1-2-2 overall and 1-0-1 in conference play.

How it Happened

• Molloy generated the first chance of the match. Graduate student Kelsie Moinzadeh headed a corner kick from freshman Sarah Tappeto wide.
• The Lions, who outshot the Bears 6-4 in the first frame, created another opportunity in the 39^th minute, but junior Dana Poetzsch's shot was denied.
• The match was scoreless after 45 minutes of play.
• New York Tech went up 1-0 in the 72^nd minute on a goal from Kayla Multer.
• The maroon and white took the next four shots after the Bears took the lead, but failed to even the match.

Top Performances

• Poetzsch led the Lions with four shots, three on goal.
• Junior Lauren Marinello and Moinzadeh recorded two shots apiece.
• Junior Jackie Carty made six saves.
