Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. – The fourth-seeded Molloy women's lacrosse team fell to the top-seeded Mercy Mavericks, 19-9, Thursday afternoon at Mercy Field in the ECC Semifinals. The Lions finished the season 12-7 overall.
How it Happened
- Senior Michaela Siegler netted the first goal of the contest to put Molloy ahead 1-0.
- The Mavericks tallied the next two goals to go ahead 2-1.
- Siegler tied the game at two.
- Mercy scored the next four goals to go ahead 6-2.
- Senior Casie Caiazza found the back of the net to cut the home team's advantage to 6-3.
- Mercy went ahead 9-3, and Siegler scored to make it 9-4.
- The Mavericks led 15-4 at the half.
- Senior Brianna Wilson tallied four goals, and freshman Megan Schiaffo netted one goal in the second half.
Top Performances
- Wilson tallied a team-high four goals. The senior set the program's single-season goals record (67).
- Siegler (three goals), redshirt senior Ali Pfeifer (three assists), and Caiazza (one goal and two assists) recorded three points each.
- Sophomore Allie Long made seven saves.
