Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy women's lacrosse team defeated the Bridgeport Purple Knights, 15-10, Saturday afternoon at John A. Darcy Field. The Lions improved to 11-6 overall and 5-3 in ECC play. Bridgeport fell to 8-8 overall and 3-5 in league play.

How it Happened

• Bridgeport took an early 1-0 lead.
• Seniors Michaela Siegler and Casie Caiazza netted back-to-back goals to put the Lions ahead 2-1.
• With the Purple Knights up 3-2, Molloy went on a 4-0 run, led by two goals from junior Amanda Reyes, and one goal each from redshirt senior Ali Pfeifer and sophomore  Kaitlyn Meyer.
• Caiazza increased the lead to 7-4, and the home team led 7-5 at the half.
• Freshman Kara Rosenberg, Siegler, and Pfeifer tallied the first three goals of the second stanza to increase the Lions' lead to 10-5.
• Caiazza and freshman Abbie Bellport netted two goals, and Reyes found the back of the net once leading Molloy to a 15-10 win.

Top Performances

• Pfeifer tallied a game-high seven points (two goals and five assists).
• Caiazza recorded five points (four goals and one assist).
• Reyes (three goals), senior Brianna Wilson (three assists), and Siegler (two goals and one assist) registered three points each.
• Meyer caused three turnovers and picked up six ground balls.
• Sophomore Allie Long made nine saves in the win.
