Seaford, N.Y. - The field hockey team concluded the 2019 campaign with a 4-1 loss to American International College this afternoon at Cedar Creek Park. Molloy ended the season with a 1-17 record, including going 1-13 in its first season in the Northeast-10 conference.
How it Happened
- The Yellow Jackets got on the board first as Jenny Holmquist scored off her own rebound on a penalty corner three minutes in.
- The maroon and white knotted the score two minutes into the second quarter as sophomore Lizzie Weiner shot the ball straight past the keeper on Molloy's second penalty corner attempt of the afternoon.
- AIC closed the half with a goal from Na'Bree Wallace off a penalty corner.
- The visitors added two goals in the third frame, scoring in the 36th and 37th minute, both coming off rebounds.
- The Lions fired six shots in the following 20 minutes of action, but were unable to find the back of the net.
Top Performances
- Weiner scored the lone goal for the maroon and white, her second of the season and her career.
- Sophomore Kyra Dalli accounted for five of Molloy's eight shots.
- Freshman Ally Saigh made nine saves in the loss while fellow freshman Ava Quick made eight stops in relief.
