Immaculata, Pa. – Led by a career-high three goals from freshman
Kyra Dalli, the field hockey team picked up its second straight shutout in a 6-0 defeat over Immaculata University. The Lions improved to 6-4 on the season with the win.
How it Happened
- Dalli started the fury of scoring off early, burying a pass from senior Ellyn Byrnes in the 10th minute of action to put Molloy in front, 1-0.
- Redshirt senior Zoe Norton and sophomore Nadia Elcock each added markers in the 14th and 15th minute, respectively, to give the maroon and white a 3-0 lead at the half.
- Dalli, who had her first collegiate multi-goal game added a second goal in the 52nd minute, completing her first collegiate hat trick just eight minutes later, giving the Lions a 5-0 lead.
- The forward then assisted on a goal from fellow freshman Jessica Kleber in the 64th minute to round out the scoring.
Top Performances
- Dalli led with a game-high four points.
- Norton fired seven shots for the maroon and white, while Elcock took six.
- The Mighty Macs had 14 penalty corners, compared to Molloy's seven, but the Lions found the back of the next off two opportunities.
- Senior Tara Byrnes made six saves in net.
