Pleasantville, N.Y. – The field hockey team fell to #8 Pace University, 3-1, at Finnerty Field this evening. Pace improved to 4-1 on the season while the loss dropped the Lions to 4-3.
How it Happened
- For the fourth contest, the Lions allowed a goal within the first 10 minutes as Jenna Sanossian found the back of the net 9:46 into the game.
- Molloy held on through the remainder of the first half, despite facing nine additional shots.
- The Setters scored twice in the second half, in the 38th and 43rd minutes, to take a 3-0 lead.
- Sophomore Nadia Elcock netted the lone goal for the Lions to cut the deficit to two in the 66th minute.

"It was a tough one for us tonight against a top ranked opponent. Not finding our groove offensively and only taking five shots was a major factor in this loss," said head coach
Trish Bonagura. "Being a young team, a loss like tonight is a great learning tool for us and we look forward to applying the lessons to our practices and in preparation for our next game."
Looking Ahead
The Lions kick off a five-game road trip on Sunday (Sept. 23) at Southern New Hampshire University. The game is slated to begin at 2:00 p.m.
