Nyack, N.Y. (Apr. 5, 2018) – The Molloy women's lacrosse team defeated the Nyack Warriors, 20-5, Thursday evening at Moseley Field. The Lions improved to 8-5. Senior Jessica Markowitz (six goals and one assist) tallied seven points, and junior Brianna Wilson (two goals and four assists) recorded six points for the maroon and white.

The Lions netted the first seven goals of the contest, led by two from Markowitz, and one apiece from freshman Jillian Mayr, sophomore Amanda Reyes, redshirt junior Ali Pfeifer, and juniors Casie Caiazza, and Michaela Siegler. Nyack (3-8) scored to cut the lead to 7-1. Molloy closed the half with the final nine goals, led by four goals from Markowitz, two goals from Wilson, and one goal from Mayr, Caiazza, and sophomore Nora Miller, and led 16-1 at the break.

Reyes, freshman Sarah Weitman, Pfeifer, and redshirt junior Zoe Norton found the back of the net in the second half.

Freshman Kaitlyn Meyer and junior Emily Bauer caused two turnovers and picked up three ground balls each. Freshman Alexandra Long made one save, and senior Jessica Carere made three saves in the win.

Molloy travels to Mercy to play the Mavericks Saturday, Apr. 7. The game is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
