Port Jefferson, N.Y. (Mar. 24, 2018) - The Molloy women's bowling team concluded the 2017-18 season at the East Coast Conference Tournament. Prior to the second day of competition, sophomore Kayla Dobrinksi was named the ECC's Elite 18 Award winner for having the highest grade point average in the tournament. The criminal justice major boasts a 4.0 GPA.
After yesterday's round robin play, the Lions found themselves in the loser's bracket. Into today's action, the maroon and white would need to run the table for a chance to make it to the final day of competition. Facing elimination, Molloy swept the Golden Falcons of Felician University on the strength of 215, 182, 205, and 205 performances.Â
In the next round, the Lions fell behind against Kutztown University, 2-0, before rallying with games of 200, 207, 199, and 183 for a 4-2 victory.Â
One of six remaining teams in the Championship, the maroon and white faced off against two-time winners Adelphi University. The Panthers ended the Lions' successful run with a 4-0 victory.
Molloy ends its third season with a record of 17-17.Â
