Rockville Centre, N.Y. (Feb. 24, 2018) – The women's basketball team ended the 2017-18 season on a positive note, defeating Mercy College, 56-41. In the effort, freshman
Marthe Guirand recorded her third double-double of the season, setting a career-high with both 20 points (9-of-12) and 20 rebounds.

Kathryn Gibson (12), and junior
Ihnacinse Grady (10) each reached double digits for Molloy in the effort. The Lions end the season 9-19 overall, 4-14 in East Coast Conference play.
The offense for the maroon and white got out to an explosive start, opening to a 14-0 run in the first six minutes. Molloy led 25-6 at the end of the first quarter.
Gibson hit a triple to start the second frame, but the Mavericks (8-20, 3-15 ECC) responded with a 15-2 run to trail, 30-21, at the half.
The Molloy lead returned to double digits in the third stanza as the home team took a 41-30 lead into the final 10 minutes of action.
With seven minutes left to play, a three-pointer from Mercy brought the visitors back within nine, 46-37. The maroon and white closed the contest on a 10-4 run to maintain the lead and seal the victory, 56-41.
