Saint Leo, Fla. (Feb. 11, 2018) – The Molloy women's lacrosse team fell to the Saint Leo Lions, 18-10, Sunday afternoon at University Turf. The maroon and white moved to 0-2 with the loss. Sophomore

Ali Pfeifer (one goal and three assists) tallied a team-high four points. Senior

Casie Caiazza netted two goals apiece.
Saint Leo (1-0) struck first early in the first half. Molloy answered with three straight goals from sophomore
Nora Miller, Hammel, and Pfeifer to go ahead 3-1. The home team trimmed the lead to 3-2, but Markowitz netted her first of the match to make it a 4-2 game. With the score 4-3, Hammel found the back of the net to extend the away team's lead to 5-3. Saint Leo scored three straight goals to go up 6-5. The Lions responded with goals from sophomore
Shannon Atwell and Markowitz to go back ahead 7-6. But Saint Leo tied the score late in the half, and the contest was knotted at seven at the break.
Caiazza tallied the first goal of the second half to give the maroon and white an 8-7 advantage. The home team ended the game on an 11-2 rally to secure the victory.
Molloy returns to action Saturday, Mar. 3, when it hosts Stonehill at John A. Darcy Field. Face-off with the Skyhawks is scheduled for noon.
