Allentown, Pa. – The women's bowling team earned the program's first-ever victory at an NCAA formatted tournament, earning first-place at the Ku Dual Tournament, hosted by Kutztown Univeristy. At the event's conclusion, juniors
Jennifer Bisogno,
Carly Licht, and
Kayla Dobrinski were named to the All-Tournament team.
How it Happened
- In an event featuring all East Coast Conference teams, the Lions started the day against the Pioneers of LIU Post. Efforts from Dobrinski (211), sophomore Christie Warmingham (204), and Bisogno (193) led the squad to a 946-858 victory.
- The maroon and white fell to #7 Kutztown, 861-840.
- Molloy bounded back with an 848-778 victory over Bloomfield College, led by 190 pins from Bisogno.
- The Lions downed the Bears again in the following match, this time competing to a 937-569 Baker match.
- In the championship, Molloy earned a second chance against the host Golden Bears. After falling behind in the opening games, the keglers threw gems of 238 and 223 to earn the 998-888 victory in the match and the event's trophy.
- In junior varsity competition, freshman Allison Burfeindt and Goldera Surles were named to the All-Tournament team.
- The Lions sit at 18-15 on the season to date, establishing a new program-high wins.
