Old Westbury, N.Y. – The Molloy women's soccer team fell to the NYIT Bears, 1-0, Wednesday afternoon at President's Stadium. The Lions moved to 3-5-1 overall and 1-3 in ECC Play. The Bears improved to 7-3 overall and 3-1 in league play.

How it Happened

• Freshman Meaghan Mancini scored the match's lone goal in the 19^th minute to put the Bears ahead 1-0. 
• After the home team took the lead, Molloy generated chances. Freshman Lexi Verni had a try denied by NYIT keeper Jessie Sabal in the 37th minute. 
• In the second half, sophomores Dana Poetzsch and Lauren Marinello had shots stopped by Sabal in the 63rd and 88th minutes, respectively. 

Top Performances

• Verni and junior Amy D'Eloia led the Lions with three shots apiece.
• Shopomore goalkeeper Jackie Carty made five saves.

Looking Ahead

• The maroon and white continues East Coast Conference play against Mercy Saturday, October 6. The match against the Mavericks is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at John A. Darcy Field.
