Caldwell, N.J. – The women's bowling team placed eighth at the Cougar Classic, hosted by Caldwell University. The maroon and white faced off against nine nationally-ranked opponents, defeating two of them. On the weekend, Molloy went 5-8, setting its season-record at 14-14.
How it Happened
- After the first day of play, the maroon and white stood at 1-4 in the tournament. Molloy defeated two-time NCAA Champions #9 Fairleigh Dickinson University, 910-870, on the back of a game of 215.
- Junior Carly Licht led the Lions to an 838-723 victory over the Bloomfield Bears with 206 pins to start off the second day of competition. Sophomore Mackenzie Wagner added 190 pins.
- Molloy fell to #7 Kutztown, 844-789, and #9 Felician, 942-898.
- The Lions then faced #3 Adelphi University for the third time on the season to date. 223 pins from Wagner, 219 from Licht, and 195 from freshman Goldera Surles fueled Molloy to a 943-989 victory over the Panthers.
- The day concluded with a 211-pin effort from junior Jennifer Bisogno to lead the team over St. Francis College Brooklyn, 882-660.
- The maroon and white was downed by St. Francis University this afternoon, despite 202 pins from Licht and 189 from sophomore Christie Warmingham.
- The best-of-seven Baker tournament saw Molloy draw Kutztown. After pushing the contest to seven games, the Lions were defeated, 190-142.
- The day ended with a Baker contest against the Panthers of Adelphi. After dropping the first two games, the Lions took the next four to seal the match, 200-144.
