WORCESTER, MASS. (Sept. 4, 2017) – The Molloy field hockey team concluded their opening weekend, consisting of three games in three days, with a loss at Assumption College. The Lions fall to 0-3 on the campaign while the victory takes Assumption to 2-1 on the season.

Sophomore Kirsten McCarthy (Danvers, Mass.) and freshman Isabel Primack (Ipswich, Mass.) each recorded two goals in the 8-0 contests.

Junior Tara Byrnes (Huntington, N.Y.) and sophomore Amanda Mesas (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) split halves, each recording 17 saves in the effort.

The team returns home on Saturday (Sept. 9) as they take on Southern Connecticut State University at 2:30 p.m. at Bay Park in East Rockaway, N.Y.
