SPARKILL, N.Y. – (Apr. 1, 2017) – Four goals from seniors 
Alexa Watson (North Massapequa, N.Y.), 
Cooper Sesselman (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and junior 
Jessica Markowitz (Baldwin, N.Y.) propelled Molloy's women's lacrosse to a 19-6 victory over the Spartans of Saint Thomas Aquinas College. The Lions improve to 7-3 on the season and 2-2 in East Coast Conference action with the win.
The maroon and white jumped out to an early 5-0 lead on goals from sophomore 
Casie Caiazza (Melville, N.Y.), Watson, Sesselman, sophomore 
Michaela Siegler (Levittown, N.Y.) and senior 
Laura Rice (New Hyde Park, N.Y.). The Spartans got on the board with two consecutive goals, but Molloy responded with a run of six straight markers from Sesselman, Markowitz, Watson, and freshman 
Amanda Reyes (East Meadow, N.Y.). Jennifer Farrell (Valley Cottage, N.Y.) netted her second of the day to bring STAC within eight, but the sophomore 
Brianna Wilson (Levittown, N.Y.), Reyes, and Sesselman each found the back of the net to put Molloy up 14-3 at the half.
The Spartans struck first in the second half to cut the lead to 10 points, but Markowitz and Sesselman both scored to put the Lions up 16-4. Farrell completed the hat trick, followed by a goal from Caroline Finnen (Hicksville, N.Y.) to bring STAC back within 10 with 15 minutes left to play. The maroon and white closed out the scoring with goals from Rice, Markowitz, and Watson to earn the 19-6 victory.
Watson led with six points while controlling four draws. Markowitz and Sessselman each totaled four points, with the senior picking up two ground balls and five draw controls. Seniors 
Lindsay Cafiero (Bethpage, N.Y.) and 
Lindsey Rzempoluch (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and sophomore 
Emily Bauer (Wantagh, N.Y.) all nabbed two ground balls for the maroon and white, with Cafiero registering a game-high two caused turnovers. Wilson added a game-high six draw controls while sophomore 
Alyssa Chetti (West Babylon, N.Y.) made four saves in the victory.
The team continues on the road on Thursday (Apr. 6) as they head to Organgeburg, N.Y. to take on Dominican College at 4:00 p.m.
