ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y.- The Molloy women's lacrosse team won its fourth straight game, 20-0, over the Felician Golden Falcons at John A. Darcy Field Sunday afternoon. The Lions improved to 5-2 with the victory.
Sophomores
Brianna Wilson (Levittown, N.Y.), who scored two goals and recorded three assists,
Casie Caiazza (Melville, N.Y.) , who tallied three goals and two assists, and
Michaela Siegler (Levittown, N.Y.), who handed out five assists, tied for game-high five points. Senior
Alexa Watson (North Massapequa, N.Y.) and junior
Jessica Markowitz (Baldwin, N.Y.) registered four points apiece.
Molloy started its offensive attack early. Senior
Cooper Sesselman (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and senior
Laura Rice (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) scored in the first minute to make it 2-0. Wilson, freshman
Amanda Reyes (East Meadow, N.Y.), Markowitz, Caiazza, and Watson all found the net in the first half for the Lions, who led 16-0 at the break.
Senior
Lindsay Cafiero (Bethpage, N.Y.) scored the first two goals of the second half to put the maroon and white ahead 18-0. Sophomore
Molly Brown (Massapequa, N.Y.) netted the final two goals of the game to make it 20-0.
Freshman
Shannon Atwell (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) and freshman
Kelsey Hammel (West Babylon, N.Y.) picked up three ground balls each. Sesselman controlled six draws, and sophomore goalie
Alyssa Chetti (West Babylon, N.Y.) made five stops for her first shutout of the season.
The Lions return to John A. Darcy Field Wednesday (Mar.22) to host ECC foe LIU Post. The game is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m.
