MINEOLA, N.Y. (Feb. 25, 2017) - The maroon and white hosted the Inagural Molloy Invitational at Sheridan Lanes, featuring 10 NCAA opponents. The day started with the Lions facing off against East Coast Conference foe Daemen College. The Lions started fast, rolling a high of 222 in a 70-point victory, 903-833. Up next, Molloy faced defending ECC Champions Adelphi University. The Lions kept the match close throughout, but the Panthers came away with the victory, 949-915. Chestnut Hill proved an able opponent, as the Lions opened an early 30-pin lead after two games, but the Lions were unable to sustain the momentum and fell 845-810.
The Lions were able to bounce back, claiming a 796-716 stunner over Roberts Wesleyan. In the final match of the day, Kutztown University took an early lead and did not look back, claiming an 874-777 win over the maroon and white.Molloy finished the day 2-3 and stand at 5-9 in NCAA competition thus far this season. The Lions return to play on Sunday (Feb. 26) at Sheridan Lanes at 9:00 a.m. in the Molloy Baker Challenge.
