Kathryn Gibson tallied 13 points for the Lions. The maroon and white move to 5-4 overall and 1-1 in ECC play.
Queens (4-4, 1-0 ECC) jumped out to an early 4-0 lead. Molloy scored the next seven points, led by five points from Grady, to go-ahead 7-4. With the home team ahead 8-6, the Knights ended the frame on a 12-2 run to take an 18-10 advantage.
Queens maintained a double-digit lead in the second quarter. Gibson hit a three-pointer with 4:05 left in the opening half to cut the lead to 24-17, but the Knights netted the final three points of the stanza to bring their lead to 27-17.
The road team brought its lead to 30-17 after Merrick Rowland (17 points) made a three. Queens increased its lead to 15, 41-26, after Beth Bonin (15 Points) hit a triple. The Knights led 45-32 at the end of 30 minutes of play.
The Lions cut Queens' lead to 45-35 after a three from Gibson. But Queens responded later in the frame, Rowan hit a triple to bring the lead to 58-42 with 1:50 left. Molloy went on an 8-0 run, led by six points from Grady, to make it a 58-50 contest, but the comeback attempt came up short.
The maroon and white return home Wednesday, Dec. 13, when they host Pace. Tip-off is slated for 5:00 p.m.
