Ihnacinse Grady scored a game-high 23 points leading the Molloy women's basketball team to a 66-63 victory over the Adelphi Panthers Thursday evening at Quealy Gymnasium. The Lions improve to 4-3 with the win. Junior 
McKayla Hernandez tallied 13 points, and freshman 
Gabriella Aspuru added 10 points for the maroon and white.
After Adelphi (4-3) scored the first basket of the game, Molloy scored the next seven points on three points from freshman 
Marthe Guirand (nine points, 10 rebounds) and buckets from Aspuru and freshman 
Abigail Duvivier (four points). The Lions kept a five-point lead, 11-6, at the end of the first quarter.
With the maroon and white ahead 18-14, the Panthers scored five straight points to go up one, 19-18. The Lions netted the next seven points, led by five points from Grady to take a 25-18 lead.  Grady extended the lead to 31-22 after she made a layup with 2:07 left in the half. Freshman 
Melody Prichard (seven points) hit a shot from half court to end the half to increase the home team's advantage to 36-25.
Hernandez hit a triple to begin the third quarter to make it a 39-25 contest. Up 39-27, the Lions scored the next seven points to gain their largest lead of the game, 46-27. Adelphi shrunk the lead to 48-35, but Aspuru made a layup and Hernandez hit a three-pointer to increase Molloy's lead to 53-35 at the end of the third frame.
The road team opened the final quarter with a 7-0 run to cut the Lions' lead to 53-42. Molloy kept a nine-point lead, 59-50, with 6:08 left, but the visitors outscored Molloy 12-3 to knot the score at 62. Hernandez hit a pair of free throws to put the home team back up, 64-62, with 57 ticks left, and Grady secured the 66-63 win with free throws with five seconds left.
The maroon and white opens ECC play Saturday, Dec. 2, against the University of the District of Columbia. Tip-off against the Firebirds is slated for 3:00 p.m.
