Alyssa Migliorini (North Haven, Conn.)Â had an impressive debut for the Molloy College tennis team, but it was not enough as the Lions were dispatched by Philadelphia University by a score of 6-3 on Saturday (Sept. 3) at Hempstead Lake Indoor Tennis Complex.
Migliorini was the lone Lion to win her singles match, taking the No.1 singles flight from Philadelphia's Jala Hamada (Giza, Egypt) in three sets (6-7, 6-2, 10-3). The grad student also teamed with freshmanÂ
Montaine Le Goupil-Maier (Oceanside, N.Y.)Â to win the top doubles match of the day against Hamada and Linde Zwaan (Apeldoorn, Netherlands) by an 8-4 score; Molloy's only other point of the match came in the second-doubles tandem asÂ

Danielle Bloecker (Oceanside, N.Y.)Â claimed an 8-2 victory over their competitors.
Molloy will continue the season on Thursday (Sept. 8) as the Lions host Holy Family University at 3 p.m. at Eisenhower Park.Â
