Box Score WEST HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (Sept. 23, 2016) - The Molloy College women's tennis team played a hard-fought conference match on Friday (Sept. 23) but the Lions were defeated in a 9-0 match-up with LIU Post at Hempstead Lake Indoor Tennis Complex.
Molloy (0-6, 0-3 ECC)) was bested by LIU Post (3-1, 1-0 ECC) in every match but each player was able to take at least one game from their respective opponents in singles play. Senior
Emily Rosen (Little Neck, N.Y.) lost a 6-4 first set in the closest competition of singles play for the maroon and white. In doubles play, the tandem of
Alyssa Migliorini (North Haven, Conn.) and
Montaine Le Goupil-Maier (Oceanside, N.Y.) were defeated in the first flight by an 8-6 margin; meanwhile,
Megan Scali (Garrison, N.Y.) and
Danielle Bloecker (Oceanside, N.Y.) fell by an 8-4 score in second doubles.
The Lions will play the second of three straight home matches on Saturday (Sept. 25) when NYIT visits West Hempstead for a 1 p.m. showcase.
