Emily Rosen (Little Neck, N.Y.) had a devil of a match at the fifth flight of singles. Facing senior Koumudi Thirunagaru (San Ramon, Calif.), Rosen was able to achieve a first-set victory at love (6-0) before dropping the second set in a marathon 14-12 tiebreak. Rosen then stormed back for a 6-2 win in the third and final set of competition. Lastly in sixth singles,
Tiffany Nagasawa (Lynbrook, N.Y.) picked up her first victory of the season by claiming an 8-1 pro-set triumph versus Debra Pellegrino (Valley Stream, N.Y.).
