The lone point for the maroon and white came at the second-singles position as freshman
Montaine Le Goupil-Maier (Oceanside, N.Y.) collected a straight-set win over STAC's Nyenyeri Kanefu (Rutherford, N.J.). Le Goupil-Maier was victorious in a first-set tiebreak by a 7-1 score to win the opening stanza (7-6) before throttling her opponent in a 6-1 rout to close out the contest.
The Lions continue a two-match road trip on Tuesday (Sept. 20) when the team visits Caldwell University for a 3 p.m. match-up with the Cougars in Caldwell, N.J.
