About the Lions
- Molloy is 9-6 on the season and 3-4 in East Coast Conference play, coming off of a disheartening 12-11 loss to Dowling College last Saturday (Apr. 23) in Brookhaven. The defeat cost the maroon and white a shot at the East Coast Conference Tournament.
- Several of the seniors who will be honored Saturday have played key roles for the Lions all season long on offense. Teresky has a team-high 51 points, scoring 36 goals and adding 15 assists. Meanwhile, Valenti has 23 goals and 23 assists to total 46 points on the season and Clark has 26 goals and 29 points total.
- Junior attacker
Connor Slane (North Babylon, N.Y.) has contributed 27 goals this season while junior midfielder
Frank Sciulla (Rocky Point, N.Y.) has won 51.6% (146-283) of his face-offs for the Lions this year. The defense is led by sophomores
Jaron Greenidge (Flanders, N.Y.) and
Zach Antonette (Seaford, N.Y.), who have a combined 59 ground balls and 31 caused turnovers between them.
Concerning the Redhawks
- It has not been an easy season for Rocky Delfino's Redhawks, who have lost seven straight games and are 3-12 overall (1-6 ECC) in 2016. Roberts Wesleyan has been competitive in a majority of its games this spring, however, losing its last contest to nationally-ranked Mercyhurst University on Wednesday (Apr. 27) by a 13-9 count.
- Junior attackman Matt Benedict (Victoria, British Columbia, Canada) has a team-high 23 goals, 19 assists and 42 points for Roberts this season. Freshman attacker Cody Menzies (Georgetown, Ontario, Canada) has added 18 goals this season as well. Senior midfielder Seth Miller (Spencerport, N.Y.) has done a devil of a number on opposing face-off men this season, winning 60% (191-320) of his draws.
