Katie O'Brien (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) had two goals and two assists for the Molloy College women's lacrosse team on Wednesday (Apr. 27), but it was not enough as the Lions dropped a 12-8 decision to No. 10 Dowling College at John A. Darcy Field on Senior Night. The Lions now hold a 9-6 overall record and a 4-3 mark in ECC play while Dowling improves to 14-2 and 8-0 in conference contests, clinching the top overall seed in next week's ECC Tournament.

Caroline Winters (Baldwin, N.Y.) made seven saves for the maroon and white. Molloy had a 3-1 lead at the halftime break but Dowling scored 11 goals including a run of five in a row to turn a 4-2 deficit into a 7-4 advantage. Senior Emma Ferreira (Sayville, N.Y.) and junior Katie Meinecke (Manorville, N.Y.) each scored four goals for the visitors in the win.
Molloy will travel to Philadelphia on Saturday (Apr. 30) for a non-conference contest with Chestnut Hill before closing out the season Sunday (May 1) at UDC.
