Women's Lacrosse Faces Mercy College in ECC Showdown Saturday

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Apr. 23, 2016) - The Molloy College women's lacrosse team will be all business on Saturday (Apr. 23) up in Dobbs Ferry when the Lions take on the Mercy College Mavericks in an East Coast Conference battle. As the season draws to a close, the maroon and white will be looking to be on the positive side of the scoreboard and pick up its tenth win---which will mark only the fourth time in program history that the Lions will have won at least ten games.

9-4, 4-1 ECC
Winners of two consecutive contests, holding Saint Thomas Aquinas and Queens College to just five and seven goals respectively.
Junior midfielder Cooper Sesselman (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) - 36 goals, 46 points, .810 shots-on-goal percentage.
Freshman middie Brianna Wilson (Levittown, N.Y.) - 30 goals, 41 points, 12 caused turnovers, 48 draw controls.
Senior defender Kelsey Dougherty (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) - 23 ground balls, six caused turnovers.
Red-shirt junior goalie Caroline Winters (Baldwin, N.Y.) -  9-4 W-L, 9.65 goals-against average, .514 save percentage.

Concerning the Mavericks

Three straight Wins following 9-8 Triple-OT loss to Dowling on Apr. 2. Outscoring opponents in last four games by total margin of 60-31.
Sophomore midfielder Grace Davidson (West Islip, N.Y.) – 37 goals, 47 points, .823 SOG%.
Freshman middie Hunter Isnardi (Hicksville, N.Y.) – 28 goals, 82 draw controls, 33 ground balls, 13 CTOs; Reigning ECC Rookie of the Week.
Freshman defender Talia Stagnitta (Patchogue, N.Y.) – ECC Defensive Player of the Week.
Junior attacker Alexa Haines (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) – 20 goals, 16 assists, 18 ground balls.
Junior Goalie Jillian Rocco (Dix Hills, N.Y.) – 8-1 W-L, 4.86 GAA, .533 save percentage.
Lost at Molloy on Apr. 25, 2015 by 21-16 final.
