Women's Lacrosse Plays Queens (N.Y.) on Saturday At Darcy Field

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Apr. 14, 2016) - With six teams in the running for four playoff spots, the East Coast Conference women's lacrosse playoff picture will more than likely come down to the final few days. The Molloy College women's lacrosse team sits at 3-1 in ECC play and can increase the chance that the Lions will return to the postseaosn on Saturday (Apr. 16) when Queens College visits John A. Darcy Field at 12 p.m.

About the Lions
- Molloy is 8-4 overall and 3-1 in ECC play, currently ranking third via tiebreaker (13-5 win) over Saint Thomas Aquinas College.
- With 12.33 goals scored per game, the maroon and white rank third in the East Coast Conference when it comes to scoring offenses. Leading the Lions are junior Cooper Sesselman (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) with a team-high 35 goals and graduate attacker Meghan Orlando (Hicksville, N.Y.) with a club-leading 45 points this season.
- Freshman Brianna Wilson (Levittown, N.Y.) has scored 27 goals and won a team-high 43 draw controls this season; red-shirt junior goalie Caroline Winters (Baldwin, N.Y.) is 8-4 with a 10.03 goals-against average and 18 ground balls to go along with a .505 save percentage.

Record: 6-5

Conference record: 0-4

4-3 record on the road this season.

In 11 games have 104 goals and 42 assists; team averages about 20 shots a game

Players to Watch:

Freshman midfielder Patriece Ausili (Ridge, N.Y.): 35 goals, 10 assists, 52 shots taken with 43 shots on goal.

Sophomore attacker Mary Pat Gibble (Whitehouse Station, N.J.): 17 goals, 16 assists, 33 shots taken with 28 shots on goal.

Senior goalie Krista Ancona (East Islip, N.Y.): 82 saves, 87 goals allowed, save percentage of 48.5%

The Knights won their last contest by a 16-1 score over Felician University; the win over the Golden Falcons snapped a four-game losing streak.

Ranger Lead The Way Fund

Saturday's game will be played in support of the Ranger Lead the Way Fund, which helps support disabled U.S. Army Rangers and the families of those who have fallen in combat or are currently serving

around the world to defend the freedom of the United States of America. The Lions will be wearing special shooting shirts and will also be selling t-shirts at the gate, with all proceeds from the gate (including 

ticket sales and shirt profits) going directly to Ranger Lead The Way Fund.
