Box Score

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Mar. 9, 2016) – Behind a five-goal performance from senior Kevin Teresky (South Huntington, N.Y.), the No. 13 Molloy College men's lacrosse team overpowered and overwhelmed Southern New Hampshire by a final score of 15-8 on Wednesday (Mar. 9) at John A. Darcy Field.

The first quarter belonged to Molloy (5-0), or more accurately, the first quarter belonged to Teresky. The senior had a hat trick in the opening frame of play as the Lions ran off five straight markers to open the contest against Southern New Hampshire (0-2). Along with the efficiency of Teresky, senior midfielder Peter Clark (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) had two goals in the first quarter while junior Jon Camposa (Syosset, N.Y.) and sophomore Anthony Rowland (West Babylon, N.Y.) each contributed goals against SNHU net-minder Michael Brawley (Tewksbury, Mass.). To open the second frame, Teresky scored his fourth goal of the contest but the Penmen were able to respond in kind with four markers to get within four at 9-5. Sophomore middie Casey Kelly (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) closed out the first half with a goal with just over a minute remaining to send the maroon and white into the halftime break with a 10-5 edge.

The second half featured more penalties than actual goals, but the maroon and white were able to hold serve with a four-goal stretch between the third and fourth quarters with Clark, Teresky and Connor Slane (North Babylon, N.Y.) to give the Lions a 15-6 edge with three minutes gone by in the fourth quarter. The lead would hold up for the maroon and white, as the Lions won their fifth straight game in convincing fashion. Slane had a four-goal night while Clark added a hat trick of his own while Austin Valenti (Baldwin, N.Y.), Frank Sciulla (Rocky Point, N.Y.) and Mike Durkin (Lake Grove, N.Y.) each collected four ground balls. Sciulla also won 16-of-25 face-offs for the Lions while sophomore keeper Ryan Toomey (Hicksville, N.Y.) had an eight-save performance for the win.

The Molloy College men's lacrosse team next faces conference and geographic rival LIU Post on Saturday (Mar. 12) at John A. Darcy Field in Rockville Centre at 3 p.m.
