No. 14 Men's Lacrosse Battles Post University Saturday in Connecticut

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Mar. 31, 2016) – The Molloy College men's lacrosse team will hope to bounce back from losses to sixth-ranked NYIT and fourth-ranked Merrimack as they travel to Waterbury, Conn. for a contest with the Eagles of Post University.

About the Lions
- Molloy will enter Lamoy Field 6-3 on the season and the maroon and white fell two places from No. 12 to No. 14 in the USILA/Nike Division II Poll on Monday (Mar. 28) following last week.
- The Lions, scoring 11.78 goals per game will look to their top scorers, seniors Peter Clark (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) and Kevin Teresky (South Huntington, N.Y.) and, who have notched 25 and 21 goals so far respectively. Teresky and Senior Austin Valenti (Baldwin, N.Y.) lead the team in assists with 11 and 10 respectively. The South Huntington native also leads the team in total points, with 32.
- The strong defensive presence of sophomores Zach Antonette (Seaford, N.Y.) and Jaron Greenidge (Flanders, N.Y.) has caused 22 turnovers combined. The defense is rounded out by senior Dan Grebe (Farmingville, N.Y.), who averages 3.4 groundballs per game. Between the pipes for all nine games, sophomore Ryan Toomey (Hicksville, N.Y.) has averaged a .527 save percentage on nearly 300 shots.

About the Eagles
- Post University has gone 4-5 to start the 2016 campaign, a record that includes a 1-2 mark against schools from the East Coast Conference and four losses in four contests against schools that were/are ranked inside the USILA/Nike Division II Top-20. In the team's most recent contest on Wednesday (Mar. 30), the Eagles ran into an angry buzz saw named LIU Post; the twelfth-ranked Pioneers led 7-2 after one quarter and 14-2 at the half on their way to a 19-5 thrashing of Post U. in Brookville.
- Post U. is averaging 11.56 goals per game thanks to a spread offense in which eight players have scored at least eight goals this season. Leading goal-scorer Trevor Buchas (Bristol, Conn.) has 21 goals on the attack for Derek Marks's club while senior midfielder Colby Treat (Penn Yan, N.Y.) has scored 11 goals and dished out 15 assists for a team-high 26 points.
- Freshman long-stick midfielder Matthew Palmieri (Waldwick, N.J.) has burst onto the scene in Waterbury with a team-high 39 ground ball pickups and 16 caused turnovers through nine games this season. The only issue for Palmieri is that no other player on his side has more than 6 CTOs and Post is minus-18 (73-55) in that statistic.
- Face-offs have also proven to be a quandary for the Eagles. Chris Cruz (Wayne, N.J.) and Raymond Maeang (Newburgh, N.Y.) have combined to win 77 draws in 202 chances, a face-off percentage of .381.
- Senior goalie Rob Rohan (East Islip, N.Y.) has taken the decision in all nine contests thus far for Post U. With a 4-5 record, Rohan has posted a .566 save percentage but a 12.31 goals-against average.
