Women's Bowling Captures First-Ever NCAA Win

READING, Pa. (Mar. 26, 2016) - The Molloy College women's bowling team ventured to Reading, Pa. on Friday (Mar. 25) to compete in the inaugural ECC Bowling Championship. The #15 ranked Golden Bears of Kutztown University rolled off a 971-753 win in the first match, while the Golden Griffins of Felician College put the Lions down 897-637 in match two. Though the Panthers of Adelphi University fired a 1011-711 to out-pace the Molloy in the third match of the day, match four saw the Lions cross over to the win column for the first time in their NCAA history.  The Lions' best effort of the day saw them tame the Wildcats of Daemen College 701-650. Franklin Pierce completed the team portion of the day with a 825-697 win over Molloy. The event then turned to best of seven Baker matches. The Lions gave it their all but were eliminated from the tournament following 4-0 losses to Felician and Daemen. The Lions completed their first NCAA season with a 1-15 record. Maria Lucente (Elmont, N.Y.) was recognized as a second team All-ECC honoree.
