Women's Lacrosse Can Up Win Streak To Five On Wednesday Versus No. 4 LIU Post

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Mar. 21, 2016) - The Molloy College women's lacrosse team has a chance on Wednesday (Mar. 23) to up its winning streak to five and also move to 7-2 on the season. To do so, however, the Lions will have to beat the team that has been the flagbearers of the conference for the past several years as well as the team that eliminated the maroon and white from the East Coast Conference Tournament last season. That team, the No. 4 LIU Post Pioneers, will host Molloy in Brookville at 3:30 p.m.

About the Lions
-Molloy has a 6-2 overall record and is undefeated to start conference play at 2-0. 
-The Lions doubled up Bridgeport 14-7 for their second ECC win last week. Cooper Sesselman (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) had 4 goals and Jessica Markowitz (Baldwin, N.Y.) added a hat trick. 
-The team has accounted for 99 goals in just eight games so far this season, which is the top number in the ECC. 
-Meghan Orlando (Hicksville, N.Y.) leads all scorers with 32 points. 23 of those points have come via the assist. 
-Sesselman has 25 goals which is tied for the ECC lead. 
-In goal, Caroline Winters (Baldwin, N.Y.) has a 9.01 GAA with 76 saves made and a .555 save percentage. 
About the Pioneers
-LIU Post has been ranked in the top 5 all year and is 5-1 to start the year, 1-0 in ECC play. 
-They have scored 83 goals in just six games this season, which is about 14 goals per game. 
-The Pioneers have allowed only 3.83 goals per game led by goalie Olivia Kirk (Farmingdale, N.Y.), who has allowed 21 goals in six starts. 
- Emily Delaney (Long Valley, N.J.) is at the top of the ECC with 38 points. The senior has scored 13 goals and chipped in 25 assists.
