ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Feb. 25, 2016) - Following a 2-1 weekend series with Pfeiffer University in North Carolina, the Molloy College baseball team heads to the other Carolina for the Northeast Challenge at Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach. The Lions will play Chestnut Hill on Friday (Feb. 26), Nyack and Felician on Saturday (Feb. 27) and Concordia College on Sunday (Feb. 28).

About the Lions
- Molloy comes out of the Pfeiffer series with a team batting average of .316, as well as a team earned run average of 1.88. The Lions limited the Falcons to just five runs in the series, with the pitching staff handling the opposing batters with relative ease.
- Junior outfielder Anthony Galanoudis (Farmingdale, N.Y.) hit 4-for-5 (.800) against Pfeiffer in two games while red-shirt junior infielder Michael Rahn (Sayville, N.Y.) is hitting .500 after three games with five hits and two doubles. Senior Deilyn Guzman (East Hampton, N.Y.) and sophomore Christian Todd (Staten Island, N.Y.) both drove in three runs versus the Falcons last weekend.
- The three starting pitchers for the Lions in the Pfeiffer series all pitched six or more innings: junior Ronald Bauer (Hicksville, N.Y.) allowed one run on five hits over seven innings in the season opener, while red-shirt junior Bobby Kelly (Mineola, N.Y.) yielded two runs on five hits in six innings of a win. Sophomore righty Anthony Catinella (Middle Village, N.Y.) struck out four batters in six-and-a-third innings of work to lift the Lions to a victory in the rubber game of the series. Freshman Timothy Panetta (Broad Channel, N.Y.) threw two-and-two-thirds hitless innings over his first two collegiate appearances out of the bullpen.

Concerning the Opponents
- Chestnut Hill will begin their season on Friday in the Northeast Challenge, as will Nyack and Concordia College. Nyack won 12 games last season in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, while Concordia went 18-17 and 11-9 in CACC play.
- Felician University started its season in Hawaii with a five-game set against Hawaii Pacific University. The Golden Falcons went 2-3 against the No. 7 team the most recent NCAA Division II West Region poll. For a full preview on the Golden Falcons, click here.
- Of the four teams Molloy will face in Myrtle Beach, only Concordia is not a common opponent from last season's schedule. The Clippers last faced the Lions in April of 2012.
