Box Score BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Apr. 12, 2015) – At the Ballpark at Harbor Yard on Sunday afternoon, the Molloy College baseball team dropped to 15-15 overall and 4-8 in the East Coast Conference with a 12-3 defeat to the University of Bridgeport. With the win, the Purple Knights improved to 14-18 (10-6 ECC).
Molloy jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning when senior John Galanoudis (Farmingdale, N.Y.) doubled home freshman Angelo Navetta (Staten Island, N.Y.), and junior Michael Rahn (Sayville, N.Y.) singled in the aforementioned Galanoudis.
From the second inning through the seventh, the Purple Knights scored 12 unanswered runs, four of which came via home runs. Tim Bickford had three of those 12 runs driven in. The Lions scored its third and final run of the ballgame in the eighth when sophomore Kevin Podell (Wantagh, N.Y.) singled to left field, bringing home fellow sophomore Brian Murphy (Elmont, N.Y.).
On the mound, sophomore Ronald Bauer (Hicksville, N.Y.) struggled, allowing eight runs in 5.2 innings pitched. He struck out four as he fell to 4-3 on the season.
