Box Score ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Mar. 28, 2015) - The Molloy College women's lacrosse team fell this afternoon to the #10 LIU Post Pioneers by the final score of 18-2. With the loss, the Lions fall to 4-5 overall (0-3 in the East Coast Conference), while the Pioneers improve to 7-2 overall (3-0 in the league).
The Lions trailed 11-0 at halftime after struggling to find any offensive rhythm in the opening 30 minutes. Following the intermission, the Lions scored two goals to cut the deficit to 11-2 and begin to attempt a comeback. The first marker was scored by freshman Jessica Markowitz (Baldwin, N.Y.) at the 29:20 mark in the second half, while the second tally was netted by junior Katie O'Brien (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) The Pioneers, however, rattled off seven unanswered goals to put away the win, 18-2.
In net for the Lions, senior goalie Laura Vetter (Great River, N.Y.) made 10 saves.
Head Coach Tom Campolettano and the Lions return to action on Thursday, April 2 against Caldwell University at 6 p.m.
