Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 UNIONDALE, N.Y. (Mar. 29, 2015) - On Sunday, the Molloy College baseball team split an East Coast Conference doubleheader with LIU Post at Mitchel Field in Uniondale, N.Y.  In Game 1, the Lions won 4-2, while the Pioneers bested Molloy in the second contest, 3-0. The Lions are now 9-11 and 3-4 in the East Coast Conference play, while the Pioneers are now 7-6 (5-2 in the ECC).

Game 1: Molloy 4, LIU Post 2
The Lions scored two runs in the first inning off an Angelo Navetta (Staten Island, N.Y.) RBI single and a Michael Rahn (Sayville, N.Y.) sacrifice fly. On these plays, junior Deilyn Guzman (East Hampton, N.Y.) and sophomore Kevin Podell (Wantagh, N.Y.) scored. The Lions scored again in the third inning when Rahn doubled in Navetta to give the Lions a 3-0 lead.

The Pioneers grabbed two of those runs back in the seventh via a two-run single. Molloy then recorded an insurance run when Guzman drove home sophomore Brian Murphy (Elmont, N.Y.) with an RBI single in the bottom half of the same inning.

Senior starter Alex Brosnan (Farmingdale, N.Y.) improved his record to 1-1 with a complete-game gem. He surrendered just two runs on five hits and struck out 10. He lowered his season ERA to a slim 2.03.

Game 2: LIU Post 3, Molloy 0
The Lions' lumber was only able to muster two hits in the second game today -- singles from Podell and Navetta in the first inning. The Pioneers scored their three runs in the second and fourth frames utilizing a Molloy fielding error and a pair of RBI singles. On the hill for Molloy, sophomore Bobby Kelly (Mineola, N.Y.) went five innings and gave up three runs -- all of which were unearned. Sophomore Sean Gordon (Levittown, N.Y.) came on for an inning of scoreless relief.

Head Coach Joe Fucarino and the Lions wrap up their four-game ECC series with LIU Post tomorrow in Brookville at 3:30 p.m.
