Box Score 2 CLERMONT, Fla. (Mar. 17, 2015) - On Tuesday, the Molloy College softball team closed out its 2015 Clermont Spring Training Trip falling to Pace University in doubleheader action, 7-2 and 3-1. The Lions are now 4-10 overall, while the Setters improved to 6-2.
Game 1: Pace 7, Molloy 2In the first game of the day, Pace jumped on the scoreboard first. In the bottom of the opening inning, the Setters scored twice to go ahead, 2-0. Molloy grabbed both of those runs back in the fifth inning when senior
Brianne Catalano (Franklin Square, N.Y.) tripled home freshman
Nina Gaita (Eastport, N.Y.), and senior
Brenda Lee (Corona, Calif.) brought home Catalano via a sacrifice fly to left field. Just a half inning later, Pace plated five additional runs -- the last four coming by way of a grand slam -- to secure the 7-2 victory.

Samantha Sauer (Plainview, N.Y.) entered on in relief and hurled 1.1 innings of shutout ball.
Game 2: Pace 3, Molloy 1The Setters were the first to score in Game 2 as well, plating three runs in the third and fourth innings. A bases-loaded walk, a solo homer, and a Molloy throwing error were the methods Pace utilized to take a 3-0 lead. Molloy scored its lone run of the game in the bottom of the sixth when freshman

For the Lions, sophomore
Chelsea Hawks (Wading River, N.Y.) went three innings and gave up three runs on four hits. Sauer came out of the bullpen to fire four shutout innings.
