Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 CLERMONT, Fla. (Mar. 15, 2015) - On Sunday, the Molloy College softball team earned a doubleheader split with Stonehill College to see its record change to 3-7 overall. Stonehill's overall ledger moved to 6-6 following today's games. In Game 1, the Skyhawks defeated Molloy (5-1), before the Lions came back to take the twinbill split with a victory in Game 2 (3-1).

Game 1: Stonehill 5, Molloy 1
Junior starter Tracey Balinskas (Edison, N.J.) pitched all seven innings for the Lions in Game 1. She surrendered five runs on 10 hits to fall to 2-3 on the year. She struck out nine batters. Offensively, the Lions scored their lone run of the contest in the first frame when senior Victoria Gunnels (North Bellmore, N.Y.) singled up the middle to bring home rookie outfielder Olivia Banulski (Bristol, Conn.). The Skyhawks scored in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings coming on late to secure the triumph.

In the batter's box, Banulski went 2-for-4, while four other Lions each recorded a base hit.

Game 2: Molloy 3, Stonehill 1
Sophomore Chelsea Hawks (Wading River, N.Y.) pitched brilliantly in Game 2, hurling all seven innings, allowing just one run, which was unearned. She allowed just three hits.

Molloy scored again early on in the first inning via a Brianna Dalton (Northampton, Pa.) RBI single, which brought home Balinskas. The Lions scored again in the fifth frame when freshman Bernadette Mullane (Bellmore, N.Y.) drove in a run with a groundout, and senior Brenda Lee (Corona, Calif.) notched an RBI single to plate fellow senior Brianne Catalano (Franklin Square, N.Y.).

Head Coach Susan Cassidy-Lyke and the Lions will next play Philadelphia University at 9 a.m. tomorrow at the National Training Center in Clermont, Fla.  That contest will be followed up by an 11 a.m. showdown with Augustana College of South Dakota. LiveStats will be available at MolloyLions.com.
