Box Score DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Feb. 4, 2015) - The Molloy College women's basketball team defeated the Mercy College Mavericks tonight in East Coast Conference action by the final score of 63-60. The win improves the Lions to 9-11 overall and 5-8 in ECC play. The Mavericks fall to 7-14 overall and 1-13 in the conference.
The Lions led the Mavericks at the intermission, 33-30, in a period that featured seven scoring ties and eight lead changes -- showcasing how tight this game was from the outset.
Individually, Molloy was paced by junior guard
Alexia O'Connor (Centerport, N.Y.) in the first half, who had six points.
Neither the Lions nor the Mavericks ever earned a double-digit lead as the largest advantage came at just six points. As late as 27 seconds remaining, the Lions led by one point (61-60) after Tanayzha Augustine hit a jumper. Successful conversions on a pair of foul shots from sophomore guard
Aliyah McDonald (Hempstead, N.Y.) and strong defense in the final seconds of the game gave Molloy the win.
For the game, Molloy was led by McDonald, who finished with 12 points (4-9 from the field). Also chipping in was junior guard/forward
Kimani Jackson (Dix Hills, N.Y.), who netted 11 points. O'Connor also had 11.
The Mavericks were topped by Tatiana Parish''s 18 points (5-10 from downtown), and also received a double-double from Brandone Roberts, who finished with 11 points and 17 rebounds.

Kate Lynch and the Lions look to build on this win in their next game, which is set for Saturday, Feburary 7. Molloy will travel to Sparkill, N.Y. to take on the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas at 1 p.m.
