Women's Basketball Clipped by Queens, 85-65

Box Score FLUSHING, N.Y. (Feb. 24, 2015) - This evening, the Molloy College women's basketball team fell to the Knights of Queens College, 85-65. The loss drops the Lions to 11-14 overall and 7-11 in East Coast Conference play, while the Knights improve to 19-6 and 14-4 in league action. Tonight's loss officially eliminates the Lions from postseason contention.

In the first half, the Lions led the Knights, 36-28, after a strong performance from senior guard/forward Nicole Arnone (Staten Island, N.Y.), who popped in eight points, including going 2-4 from downtown. That solid first half was helped by Molloy's 46.4% field goal percentage.

The Knights would come back in the second period to lead the Lions after a jump shot from Madison Rowland at the 13:13 mark. This was the eventual trend the contest headed towards as the Lions never regained the lead. The highwater mark for the Knights was 23 points (came with 42 seconds left in regulation).

Overall, the Lions were paced in points by junior wing Kimani Jackson (Dix Hills, N.Y.), who finished with 16. Senior guard Sabrina Padro (Bronx, N.Y.) netted 13 points.

Queens was led by Madison Rowland's 21 points, while her sister Mackenzie Rowland finished with 18.
