BROOKLYN, N.Y. (Dec. 5, 2015) - The Molloy College women's bowling team traveled to Brooklyn to compete in the St. Francis College-Brooklyn Knockdown tournament on Saturday (Dec. 5). There the Lions were tasked with playing four matches---two against the host Terriers and two against East Coast Conference foe Kutztown.
In match one, the Terriers came out of the gate fast firing a 204 baker game to start of the match. The Lions were unable to answer the challenge and fell 975-546. The match then turned to team play and despite a 220-pin effort by freshman
Maria Lucente (Elmont, N.Y.), St. Francis College opened a commanding lead and won the match pulling away 912-604.
In the opening match against Kutztown, the Golden Bears pounced on the Lions taking an early 96-pin lead and ran off a 799-547 baker win. The day concluded with a team match versus the ECC rivals and again the Golden Bears were too strong for the Lions and took the match 953-536.
Despite the 0-4 day the Lions showed promise and will return to action at the Westchester Community College Invitational on Janurary 17, 2016.
