Box Score ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Oct. 12, 2015) - The Molloy College women's tennis team put up a hard-fought effort on Monday against Roberts Wesleyan, but the results favored the Redhawks at Hempstead Lake Indoor Tennis, 8-1.
Senior
Tatiana Rajaona (Paris, France) scored the lone point for Molloy (0-9, 0-6 ECC) by taking a gritty three-set match in the first singles flight over sophomore Natalia Cardona (Armenia, Colombia). Rajaona won the first set 6-2 before dropping the second game 3-6. In the third set tiebreak, Rajaona put forth great hustle and pinpoint shotmaking skills to top Cardona 10-7. Megan Scali (Garrison, N.Y.) at the No. 1 doubles tandem, but the duo lost a tough 8-6 decision to Cardona and Marine Kennel (BennWhir-Gare, France). Meanwhile, junior

Christie Catterson (Amityville, N.Y.) at the second doubles flight and took two games from Roberts Wesleyan's Camilla Linhart (Albury, Australia) and Tiffany Hamdan (Johnson City, N.Y.). The Redhawks (6-6, 2-4 ECC) though claimed the 8-2 decision in doubles play.
The Molloy College women's tennis team concludes its fall home schedule by hosting Post University on Wednesday (Oct. 14) at 4 p.m. at the Hempstead Lake Indoor Tennis Complex.
