Box Score OAKDALE, N.Y. (Jan. 24, 2015) - The Molloy College women's basketball team won its second-straight game after defeating Dowling College this afternoon, 61-58. The win improves the Lions to 7-10 overall and 3-7 in East Coast Conference play. Following the loss, Dowling drops the Golden Lions to 3-13 overall and 3-7 in the league.
In the first half, the Lions led by as many as nine points after a good jumper from junior forward
Ally Leftridge (Melville, N.Y.) at the 5:13 mark. At halftime, the Lions were up on their counterparts, 31-28.
In the second stanza, the Lions and Golden Lions would go back and forth with Dowling eventually taking a four-point lead at the 17:17 mark. During the game, Molloy and Dowling changed leads seven times, showcasing the tight play. The Lions would put away the win after two converted free throws from sophomore guard

Leading the way for the Lions was junior guard
Alexia O'Connor (Centerport, N.Y.), who finished the game with 14 points (5-10 from the field). Junior guard/forward
Kimani Jackson (Dix Hills, N.Y.) chipped in with a team-high seven rebounds, while netting nine points. Leftridge put in 11 points (5-14 from the field).
The Golden Lions were led by Jessica Kalbfleisch who had 21 points (9-14 from the field).
