Women's Soccer Nipped by Bentley in Season Opener, 1-0

Box Score NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. (Sep. 5, 2014) - On Friday afternoon, the Molloy College women's soccer team dropped a heartbreaker after battling Bentley University to a scoreless game until the 90th and last minute of regulation. The Falcons found the back of the netting with 43 seconds left before overtime from three yards out. With the loss, Molloy is now 0-1, while Bentley is 1-0. This was Day 1 of the Marriott Kickoff Classic, hosted by Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass.

Rookie goalkeeper Paige Salmon (West Hempstead, N.Y.) received the start in goal today, making one save as the defense held the Falcons' offense at bay.

Offensively for Molloy, sophomore Gianna Jennosa (Islip Terrace, N.Y.) had two shots on-goal, while senior Allison Sloper (Williston Park, N.Y.), junior Alicia Mercurio (Williston Park, N.Y.) and junior Casey Filippone (North Babylon, N.Y.) each had one.
