Box Score DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (May 2, 2014) - On Friday afternoon, the Molloy College baseball team, in need of two East Coast Conference-victories in its four-game series with Mercy College, are now halfway there after a 9-3 win over the Mavericks in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. With the triumph, the Lions improved to 18-20 overall and 11-10 in the league, while the Mavericks fell to 12-26 on the year (8-13 in the ECC).
The Lions plated three runs in the first frame. Junior
John Galanoudis (Farmingdale, N.Y.) had an RBI groundout, while sophomore
Deilyn Guzman (East Hampton, N.Y.) notched an RBI single. The third run came home when freshman
Ronald Bauer (Hicksville, N.Y.) recorded an RBI groundout to second base. The Lions grabbed another run in the third inning when D. Guzman scored via a throwing error by the Mercy catcher.

Carlos Guzman (Bloomingburg, N.Y.) to give Molloy a 5-0 lead. One batter later, Bauer drove in D. Guzman and Galanoudis with a two-run single to left field. Molloy then took a commanding 9-0 lead in the ninth inning when Galanoudis cranked a two-run homer. Freshman
Kevin Podell (Wantagh, N.Y.) scored on the big fly in front of Galanoudis.

Max Schonfeld (East Meadow, N.Y.) further fueled his terrific resume this year with a complete-game win. He allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits. He struck out four.
