Box Score BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Apr. 5, 2014) - The Molloy College women's lacrosse team squared off against the top-ranked team in NCAA Division II in LIU Post on Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers' high-powered offense and stingy defense was too much for the Lions as LIU Post earned the victory, 18-4. Following the win, the Pioneers improved to 12-0 overall (5-0 ECC), while the Lions dropped to 6-5 on the year and 2-2 in the league.
LIU Post scored 12 unanswered goals in the first half. In the second stanza, the Lions scored four tallies to the Pioneers' six. Molloy scored for the first time at the 25:57 mark when freshman
Cooper Sesselman (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) found the back of the cage off a feed from fellow rookie
Taylor Corcoran (Holbrook, N.Y.). Then, following five straight goals by the Pioneers, Molloy recorded a trio of goals. Freshman
Alexa Watson (North Massapequa, N.Y.) scored at the 6:47 mark, while Sesselman netted the final two Molloy goals to complete her hat trick.
